Optional Excursions

 

Our tours are carefully planned to offer you a comfortable balance of sightseeing, entertainment, and leisure time. Optional Excursions provide the flexibility to choose between leisure time or additional sightseeing activities. The optional excursions we offer are listed alphabetically below along with approximate prices and times. Detailed descriptions and current pricing of the specific excursions for your tour will be included with your Trip Documents Packet.
• Unless otherwise noted, optional excursions must be booked with and paid to your tour manager in Europe.

• Prices in this brochure are in U.S. Dollars. VISA®, MASTERCARD®, or DISCOVER (no other credit cards are accepted) are recommended to avoid carrying excessive cash and exchange rate fluctuations. You must be able to present the actual card to your tour manager. If you bring a DISCOVER card, be sure to also bring a VISA® or MASTERCARD® because DISCOVER is not widely accepted in Europe.

• Cash payments during the tour must be in Euros.

• Personal checks and traveler’s checks are not accepted.

• Operation of all excursions is subject to sufficient participation, and some excursions are subject to favorable weather conditions. Your tour manager reserves the right to make changes to or cancel these excursions at his/her sole discretion.

 

'BAVARIAN PALACE'
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
from Tyrolean Village, US $65

Travel via the majestic Seefeld pass to the French rococo palace of Linderhof. The visit will include a guided tour of the ornate palace interior and time to walk through the extravagant gardens. Continue to the village of Oberammergau, known for the elaborate production of the Passion Play performed here every 10 years. After an independent lunch, admire the frescoed buildings. (Maximum elevation 4,000 feet on the Seefeld Pass).

'COLOSSEUM'
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Enjoy a guided tour of the Colosseum. Dating from 80 AD, this is one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. The visit also includes entrance and guidance through the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

'LONDON DINNER & THEATRE'
5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Dine at one of London’s fine restaurants. Then, see a Broadway show in one of the distinctive theatres. Your Confirmation Packet will announce the specific show featured for your tour.

 

'PARIS DINNER & CABARET SHOW'
7:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
in Paris, US $175

La Nouvelle Eve nightclub, in the Montmartre district, will serve an elaborate champagne dinner. True to the infamous Paris revues, dinner is followed by a spectacular show of dancing and singing by performers in beautiful and risqué (partial nudity) costumes. The dress code is casually elegant (no shorts, jeans, or tennis shoes).

'PARIS EVENING'
7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Your French cuisine experience at a true Paris bistro is accompanied by roving musicians. Dinner includes wine or another beverage and features a tantalizing choice of French dishes. Your return motor coach ride will provide memorable
impressions of one of the world’s most celebrated cities.

'ROME DINNER'
6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

A unique evening awaits you at a spirited restaurant in the heart of Rome. You will be served a multicourse dinner of Italian specialties, accompanied by wine. Following dinner, singers will bring some of Italy’s most beloved arias to life during engaging and entertaining performances.

'SEINE RIVER CRUISE'
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Glide along the Seine River by boat while viewing the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Notre Dame Cathedral and several other famous sights in Paris.

'SWISS LAKE BOAT RIDE'
3:00 - 3:45 p.m.

Board a steamer for a scenic ride on Lake Lucerne. Your cruise will provide splendid views of the surroundings, comprised of mountain cliffs rising up to 5,000 feet and gorgeous lakeside resort homes.

 
 

'SWISS MOUNTAIN'
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Reach the summit of Mt. Stanserhorn (elevation 6,232 feet) by cogwheel train and the world’s only open-top cable car. At the top, enjoy the panorama on the terrace of the mountain top restaurant, take a walk along the paths, and snap pictures of the magnificent vistas. This excursion is subject to favorable weather and cable car operation, and may be rescheduled or cancelled. In some cases, another mountain may be substituted.

 
 

'TOWER OF LONDON'

An official Blue Badge guide will accompany you through London’s most imposing fortress. Through its 1,000-year history, the tower has been the seat of British government, the living quarters of monarchs, the site of renowned political intrigue, and the repository of the Crown Jewels. During your visit, view the Crown Jewels and learn about some of the notorious past inhabitants of the tower.

 

'TYROLEAN SHOW & DINNER'
6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Begin the evening with a traditional Austrian dinner of Wiener Schnitzel (Pork) authentically served with French Fries and Apple Strudel along with your choice of beer, wine or soft-drink. Then transfer to Innsbruck where the Gundolf Family welcomes you for an entertaining performance of traditional Tyrolean songs, unique dances, amusing instruments, and expert yodeling.

 
 

'VATICAN MUSEUMS & SISTINE CHAPEL'
1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Enter the Vatican City, a 110 acre sovereign city-state within the city of Rome. A local guide will provide commentary as you tour the Vatican Museums, which house some of the most renowned masterpieces of Renaissance art, including the Sistine Chapel featuring Michelangelo’s frescoed ceiling and "The Last Judgment." Your visit also includes St. Peter’s Basilica, where you will find Michelangelo’s "Pieta."

'VENICE DINNER'

At the end of your day in Venice, join your tour manager for dinner at Al Giardinetto Restaurant with its beautiful vine-clad courtyard and relaxing atmosphere. The dinner includes a glass of wine, local specialties, and dessert.
