At the end of January, my business associate and I traveled on different domestic schedules in order to see both sides of the connecting New York experience.
My business associate said the transfer through JFK Airport went smoothly as well and took about the same amount of time. She claimed her luggage at customs. After going through customs and exiting into JFK Terminal 4, she turned left and walked under the yellow sign stating “Connecting Flights” where she found counters for Singapore Airlines and Delta Airlines. She went to the Singapore Airlines counter first and they checked through her bag so that she would not be charged baggage fees for the domestic flight. Then, Singapore Airlines sent her to the Delta Airlines counter for boarding passes. Following the signs to the Air Train and Terminal 3 Arrivals with some walking, escalators, elevators, and winding corridors, she reached security at Terminal 3 and continued to her departure gate.
Although we pretty much felt more comfortable the second time we transferred, my transfer between LGA and JFK was far more convenient and effective for people of all ages.
